Our Story
SoulInterviews was founded in Sweden in 2008 by music journalist, broadcaster and DJ DJ “Souly” Soulswede.
With more than three decades immersed in soul music and the wider musical landscape surrounding it, Souly has interviewed internationally acclaimed artists, songwriters, musicians and producers while consistently championing independent artists alongside established names.
Over the years, SoulInterviews has developed into a growing archive of conversations documenting careers, recordings and musical history from the perspective of the people who were actually there.
The objective has never been to chase headlines.
It has been to preserve stories.
The stories behind the records.
The stories behind the careers.
And, most importantly, the stories behind the artists themselves.
The Sound of Emotions
Music journalism can document facts: who played on a record, where it was recorded, who wrote the song and when it was released.
But music is rarely remembered because of facts alone.
We remember where we were when we first heard a particular song. We associate records with people, relationships, places and chapters of our lives. A voice recorded decades ago can suddenly make the past feel remarkably close.

SoulInterviews is independently produced and self-funded.
