Welcome to SoulInterviews
Welcome to SoulInterviews.com — an independent platform where music, storytelling, and authenticity come first.
We are proud to be 100% self-funded and free from external influence. This independence allows us to stay true to our purpose: delivering honest, transparent, and meaningful content driven solely by a passion for music and the stories behind it. Everything we create is shaped with our audience in mind—built on trust, curiosity, and a deep respect for the culture. Here, Quiet Storm radio meets intimate artist conversations, creating a space where sound and story move together.
A Journey Through Soul, Resilience, and Renewal
At SoulInterviews, we believe music is more than sound—it’s emotion, memory, and connection. Every song carries a story. Every artist channels something deeply human. Across joy, heartbreak, triumph, and loss, music becomes the shared language that brings us closer together.
This vision has always been at the heart of SoulInterviews and its founder, DJ “Souly” Soulswede. A music historian, journalist, and longtime advocate for soul music, Souly has spent nearly four decades documenting, preserving, and celebrating the voices behind the genre. In 2008, he launched SoulInterviews.com as a pioneering platform for in-depth artist conversations—welcoming both legendary figures and independent artists to share their journeys in a genuine, unfiltered way.
The Pause
After more than a decade of interviews and creative output, life took an unexpected turn. Within a short period, Souly experienced the loss of both parents, the closure of his company due to economic challenges, and the weight of rebuilding—moving, starting over professionally, and navigating profound personal change. “Music is life,” Souly says. “But it has to be felt. It can’t become an obligation.”
What once felt effortless began to feel distant. The passion was still there—but buried under everything else.
The Return
Time, perspective, and healing brought clarity.
After a six-year hiatus, SoulInterviews returns—not as a continuation, but as a renewal. “The new SoulInterviews gives me more creative freedom than ever before.” This new chapter expands beyond interviews into a broader creative vision. Through the umbrella of SoulinEffect, the platform now brings together:
- SoulInterviews (artist conversations)
- Quiet Storm radio (late-night, slow groove storytelling)
- SoulInterviews TV (visual, in-depth video interviews)
SoulInterviews TV, in particular, adds a new dimension—offering face-to-face conversations that go deeper into the lives, challenges, and inspirations of artists. These are not surface-level interviews, but honest, visually rich stories captured in real environments, from intimate studio spaces to candid, behind-the-scenes moments.
The Vision
Together with longtime collaborator Bonnie Cehovet, Souly is building a platform that invites both discovery and reflection. Content will move naturally between English and Swedish, always grounded in one core idea: music as a source of connection, healing, and truth.
This is a space for:
- timeless soul stories
- new voices and hidden gems
- late-night moods and reflection
- and the emotional depth that defines the genre
More Than a Platform
SoulInterviews is ultimately a reflection of something deeper.
It’s about resilience.
It’s about rediscovery.
And it’s about the unbreakable bond between music and life.
“Through everything, music has remained my anchor. It’s where I go to feel, to connect, and to find peace.”
Welcome Back
From legendary interviews to Quiet Storm sessions, and now the visual storytelling of SoulInterviews TV—this is a new beginning shaped by experience, honesty, and soul.
